from the Vallier keeper after 12 minutes. Patchway then upped their
game and Dan Wigston Richards scored on 25 minutes, heading the ball

Patchway
Athletic v Shirehampton Colts
Patchway hosted Shirehampton Colts at home this week in a game that
was played in great spirit with some banter between players and the
referee. The start of the game was pretty even with both teams getting
some chances. Shirehampton scored on 23 minutes when Kyle Buffrey
slotting the ball in the bottom right corner. Shirehampton scored again
on 33 minutes through centre half Dave Prichard as Patchway failed to
clear the ball from their box. The game then continued end to end for
the rest of the half. Patchway were forced to play the second half with
only 9 players as their goal keeper and one of the outfield players
sustained injuries in the dying minutes of the first half. Despite this
handicap Patchway played better in the second half. Kyle Buffrey scored
his second for Shirehampton 22 minutes into the second half but Patchway
soon hit back when Dan Wigston-Richards placed the ball to the right of
Shirehampton 's outstretched keeper. This gave some hope to Patchway and
they kept some pressure on the Shirehampton defence but were unable to
make a major impact. Shirehampton scored another goal when Kyle placed
the ball under Matt Davis in the Patchway goal for his hat-trick.
Shirehampton finished off the game with their 5th goal after Matt Davis
played the ball out of goal and leaving the defenders to save a shot
only for the ball to be slotted home on the second attempt by substitute
Lee Uylhk.
Full
Circle v Patchway Athletic
This
was a good game in which both teams took a while to get going. Patchway
were the first to score when they took a surprise lead through Ben Fry
in the 36th minute. Full Circle hit back with 2 goals from their hit man
Rydan Cadette before half time. Rydan completed a hat trick just soon
into the second half. Full Circle added a fourth through Rayon Mclean.
Leon Grange sealed the win with the fifth goal. Dimitri Brimble scored a
late goal for Patchway.
Patchway Athletic v Gala Wilton
Patchway's game was moved to another venue as
their home pitch was still unavailable. Weather was great from
football and Gala got the game under way.
Patchway took the lead from a goal from Ben Fry, slotting into the
bottom corner, Gala got straight back into the game and scored from
a corner, Gala then kept the pressure on and scored again from
another set piece, whipping the ball in from another corner, heading
the ball into the net. Patchway worked the ball up the field and
Aaron Bundy crossed the ball in from the right and Dan Wigston-Richards
heading the ball into the net, giving the keeper no chance of a
save.
Gala then upped their game and controlled the rest of the first half
scoring a further 3 goals again mostly from set pieces. This left
Patchway with a mountain the climb at half time.
Patchway came out for the second half with some determination, and
Ben Fry scoring his second goal of the game putting the ball into
the top corner. Patchway showed that they did want to get back into
the game and out played Gala for the first 15 minutes of the second
half. Matt Siddon got a solo goal taking on the midfield and calmly
kicking the ball from 30 yards into the back of the net.
That was it for Patchway's game, Gala took hold of the rest of the
game scoring 3 goals in quick succession.
Gala are a very organised team and disciplined and could show most
teams a thing or two.
There were a couple of bad saves from Patchway's keeper at allow
Gala to extend their lead, some of Patchway's heads went down, which
did not help their cause. Gala finished the game with 4 more goals
making this Patchway's heaviest defeat this season. Gala well
deserved the 12 - 4 win.
Patchway's scorer's - Ben Fry (2), Dan Wigston-Richards, Matt Siddon

Hempstead (4), Steven Hutchins, Dan Jeeves, Jordan Rees.
Patchway Athletic
v St Vallier
This week although St Vallier started the match with more confidence and
purpose and played some very nice football they still ended up loosing
to Patchway 4 - 2. The tackling was good and the passing was crisp and
accurate. Even the weather was nice. The back four looked better. Rich
Sage was in goal and had Swazey Diamond, Tom Ferris, Alex Morris and Dan
Tyrell to block any Patchway advance. Patchway had a good chance to open
the scoring after an interception by Dimitri Brimble, who then passed to
Ben Fry who's shot was saved. Within 18 minutes of the start St Vallier
had scored with a goal by Abdul Salaman. Scott Phelps was also very busy
in midfield and in fact the midfield was dominated in the first half by
St Vallier and 6 minutes later Abdul Salaman scored again for St Vallier
with a shot from the edge of the area that went in off the underside of
the bar.. Both goals came from efforts started by Swazey Diamond and
with good support from Adam James. Marcus Brook was replaced by Dan
Wigston-Richards. Patchway held their heads and looked in disarray. St
Vallier looked the better side but eased up a bit and allowed Patchway
to get a goal back in the 37th minute when Matt Webb scored from a
corner kick from Jordan Webber.
When the second half started St Vallier knew they
had a fight on. Patchway came at them and stepped up the pressure. They
had several attempts on goal, stopped by good defending from Tom Ferris
and Dan Tyrell. Patchway also made a double substitution taking Matt
Webb and Jordan webber off and replacing them for Aaron Bundy and Luke
Bayford. With just over an hour of play gone Patchway scored to level
the score at 2-2 Dan wigston-Richards scored from a cross from Dimitri
Brimble. Shortly afterwards Scott Phelps was taken off and Kyle Ellis
was brought on. With 15 minutes to go Swazey Diamond was subbed for
Jordan Curry. St Vallier continued to dominate most of the midfield and
Jason Barter had a good game with some very good runs through the middle
and out to the right wing. Dean Dagger also had some good runs up the
left wing but St Vallier's finishing was poor. 6 minutes before full
time Abdul Salaman was injured and St Vallier were down to 10 men for a
while. Errors in St Vallier’s own half saw keeper Rich Sage having to
make two good saves and there were three corner kicks to Patchway in
quick succession. When the ball was eventually cleared out it came to
Matt Bradley who had a good run up the field towards the Patchway goal
but was stopped inside the 18 yard box before he had chance to shoot or
pass the ball. Patchway were a different team in the second half and it
showed as St Vallier made a mistake at the back which allowed Patchway's
Luke Bayford to score a third goal. St Vallier threw everyone forward in
an effort to pull one back and runs into the Patchway penalty area were
made by Jason Barter, Matt Bradley, Dean Dagger and Adam James. Patchway
found themselves back in the St Vallier penalty area and Patchway went
further ahead when Luke Bayford scored his second of the game from a
cross from Aaron Bundy and finished the match.
Patchway Athletic win 4 - 2
Broadwalk Colts v Patchway Athletic
The
weather conditions were the worse of the year so far, with temperatures
down to 1c and raining making this a very hard game to play in.
Broadwalk Colts gained only their second win
of the season when they beat Patchway 5-0. Lewis Brown opened the
scoring for Broadwalk with a shot that rebounded off the underside of
the cross bar into the net. Their second goal, scored just before half
time, was a little freakish as Talum Ferdinand struck the ball from just
inside his own half towards the opponent’s goal where the keeper
misjudged its flight and it ended up in the net. The second half scoring
was started early in the half by James Hayes. This was followed at the
midway stage when James Britton scored Broadwalk’s fourth. The scoring
was completed by Jake Hill when he ran onto a through ball and slipped
it past the keeper. Man of the match for Broadwalk Colts was their goal
keeper Matt Dunk who kept a clean sheet and kept Patchway out of the
game.

0 without a regular keeper. Danny Lewis opened the scoring for

equalising. In the second half Kyle Buffery came out onto the pitch and
scored a hat-trick. George Aldous also scored and new boy Lee Uhlyk,
making his debut for Shirehampton, scored twice. The game was a little
one sided in the second half as Patchway appeared to lose heart during
the game. An excellent team performance from Shirehampton Colts

defending from the Gala back four being led by Captain Ben Hoad. Gala

Athletic
St Vallier gave a plucky performance for a team at the bottom and showed
some good football but Patchway pulled through to get another win. St
Vallier succumbed to a decent Patchway team 0 - 4 in an entertaining and
hard fought game. The game was played in an excellent spirit between two
well matched Teams with many mutual friendships. This despite two

even in each others' halves throughout. Patchway's 1st goal came after

minutes later Dan placed the ball in the back of the net. Patchway
